Neighbour arrested for raping teen

Police arrested a juvenile for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl in the Narayanganj Sadar upazila on Friday.

The suspect of sex rape Khalilur Rahman (21) was an acquaintance of the victim.

Police took him into custody from Muslimnagar area this afternoon following the victim's grandmother had filed an investigation in the Narayanganj Sadar Police Station, said OC Rakibuzzaman from the police station.

The girl lived in a rental apartment with her grandparents. Khalilur was their neighbor next door. When her grandparents left at the end of Friday's afternoon Khalil was able to forcefully take the young girl into his bedroom. He threatened to stab the girl to death, Khalil assaulted the girl in the room the OC claimed.

The patient was admitted for treatment at Narayanganj General Hospital for treatment and testing.
